Learning Through Real Clinical Experiences
One of the defining features of the Root & Bloom Mentorship Program is meaningful exposure to authentic clinical practice.
When appropriate informed consent has been obtained from clients and/or legal guardians, trainees may have opportunities to:
Observe live BCBA sessions
Review recorded clinical sessions
Participate in treatment planning discussions
Analyze assessment results
Interpret behavioral data
Practice writing recommendations
Observe caregiver training
Observe supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
Every observation includes guided discussion focused on understanding the rationale behind clinical decisions—not simply observing service delivery.
This model encourages trainees to develop independent clinical judgment while maintaining the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and client confidentiality.
What Makes Root & Bloom Different?
Most fieldwork supervision focuses on satisfying BACB requirements.
Root & Bloom goes beyond compliance by providing intentional mentorship that prepares trainees for the realities of clinical practice.
Our supervision emphasizes:
🌱 Clinical reasoning over memorization
🌱 Confidence over compliance
🌱 Professional growth over hour accumulation
🌱 Ethical decision-making over checklist completion
🌱 Mentorship over management
Rather than simply reviewing assignments or signing documentation, trainees are actively engaged in the decision-making process that occurs behind every clinical recommendation.
Our goal is for trainees to understand not only what a BCBA does but also why.
